Kakadu and Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia
Kakadu National Park is renowned for its tropical rainforests harboring cool inviting swimming holes and its wetlands teeming with wildlife. You can take one of the many ecotours and cruise the rivers filled with the dinosaurs of the modern era, the Saltwater Crocodile, fish for the mighty Barramundi, immerse yourself in the culture of this ancient land or just admire the raw beauty of the “Top End”.
Arnhem Land has the wild coastlines of the Arafura Sea and Gulf of Carpentaria, rainforests, wetlands and rocky escapements where ancient drawings tell the story of the Dreamtime. This wild and often rugged land, belonging to the aboriginal people, is perhaps one of the best fishing destinations in the world due its remoteness. A permit is required to travel to Arnhem Land through the Northern Land Council.
